The device consists of an optical component, a temperature sensor signal amplifier, processing circuitry, and an LCD display. The optical component collects infrared energy emitted by the object and focuses it onto the sensor. The sensor then converts the energy into an electrical signal. After passing through the signal amplifier and processing circuitry, this signal is converted to a digital signal for display on the LCD.
